Coronavirus Chronicles Day #12…
Woke up at 2, not sure what it was that made me get up but I didn’t go back to sleep until 4. Woke up to hear Adam heading to his office at 7:30. Got up and got coffee.
Read the news and spent time with the boys. Had a one on one conversation with Noah. He’s getting frustrated about being locked at home. We have talked about what is going on in depth but I haven’t written out the numbers, so today I showed him the difference in flattening the curve and not. Then I gave him a better understanding on what was going on overall. More than anything I told him how proud I was of him. He has taken this social distancing like a champ. He lost the end of his wrestling season and a chunk of his travel soccer season. Not to mention the normal day to day of friends and school and he has managed it well. I don’t blame him his frustration, I have it too. I just wanted him to know how much we appreciated his help around the house and positive attitude, we all have good and bad days but his good days have far outweighed his bad.
Boys called me downstairs to see a video game they are playing. Opened the basement door and all of a sudden I was in a spy movie and had to make it down the stairs without tripping the wire or breaking an ankle whichever came first…

Boys showed the video game they are playing called Rocket League, apparently they have created their own game within the game and it involves playing tag. They told me the rules, I didn’t follow. Dawson had to go to the bathroom and gave me the controller…I didn’t know the rules so I just slammed into them all!!

The SUN came out and it was perfect! The boys played baseball. Noah did a live Gen Z bike ride on the Echelon. I didn’t even know Gen Z was a thing!! There was some glitching in the ride but he was thrilled he came in second! He wants to do the next ride tomorrow.

We opened the pool and checked the water temp. we are pushing 80 degrees! Found a drowned Crawdad in the bottom and the kids named it Blacktooth the Crawdad…May he Rest In Eternal Peace. Noah pulled out the pool vac to clean out any additional leaves, the boys spent 20 minutes trying to name the pool vacuum since the indoor Roomba is named Rosie after the Jetsons and they feel like the outdoor vac needs a name too. We are currently between Aquaman, BB8, and T45…

Pulled out outdoor cushions and enjoyed the sun, it was 58 degrees but the boys were rolling like it was 70…You should see them when it gets 80 around here…

Started a new book called We Must Be Brave, it seems fitting for the times.

Pulled out the pool vacuum and noticed a lot of debris coming out, cleaned out the netting and found a dead mouse, he wasn’t in the pool so he had to have been in the netting. So Smith’s 2, Dead Animals 0…
Adam finally got off his last call at 6 and we had dinner. Totally called Noah a mouse killer at dinner…
Went outside to enjoy the last sunlight of the day. Owen hit baseballs and one landed on the pool cover, we made Dawson grab it, he’s the smallest. He giggled the whole time…

Dawson and Owen then played cops and robbers. Owen wanted to be like Office Adam Bower so you can see him handcuffing Dawson in the picture and in the video Dawson was the cop trying to catch Owen. Owen may have been just a smidgen faster than Dawson.

So in summary the kids are alright but sunburned, Adam and I are alright but sunburned, and the dog is currently snoring because he is living his best life.
