Coronavirus Chronicles Day #15

Lots of excitement at the Smith house today. Found a salamander in the filter basket, he had his feet on the edge of the filter basket and his head above water. I called the kids over to take a look and asked who wanted to grab and save him. Corbin was game but Noah suggested Corbin pull up the basket instead of grabbing the salamander. Before I could stop him he grabbed the basket and lifted, the salamander did NOT fall gracefully into the basket but out of the basket and into the filter. He swirled for a second and was quickly pulled into the pipes…we frantically tried to grab him but no luck. The kids yelled to open the pool cover and search for him, no luck. Noah ran over to the saltwater filter and found him in the equipment basket on what must have been the equivalent of the salamander scrambler!! Turned everything off and pulled him out. Believe it or not he was still alive!! Now he spent the next 10 min dizzy but after awhile he actually scrambled off!

So we are now Smiths 2, Animals 1!! We have a live one folks!!

The rest of the day was spent on bike rides for the kids, trampoline time, pool time, reading and Quavo time!

Had a great time at dinner telling stories and making each other laugh. The kids cleaned up and watched the end of a movie. The younger kids are now in bed, Noah’s downloading a game downstairs and Adam and I are watching the weather because, what could bring more excitement than the coronavirus? Thunderstorms and tornado warnings…Super duper fun times here…

But in summary the kids are alright. Adam and I are alright, and the dog is scared of storms. Which means he is currently panting in my lap and yes he’s 100+ pounds…
