Coronavirus Chronicles Day #25
I just had one of those days. I woke up at 3 and thought it was 6, couldn’t go back to sleep. Tried to get a Walmart pickup slot no luck…5 o’clock went back to bed and slept like the dead. Hit the ceiling when Adam woke me up at 7:45…
Dragged myself to the kitchen for coffee. Got my cup, poured milk in Dawson’s cereal went back to my room to read the news. I like to drink my coffee in peace and quiet and this is the best spot in the morning with the boys at home.
Got ready for the day and got the boys going on e-learning at 9…technology was causing me to be impatient. I could just feel my annoyance in my shoulders. It wasn’t the actual devices or websites it was just me. Call it lack of sleep, restlessness, whatever, it was just one of those days. For the most part everything went pretty good until I realized half way through Dawson’s school work that we were doing Wednesday not Tuesday’s work…stepped into my bedroom and cussed….and not quietly…($&@$/%^) I can’t believe I did that!!! Came back out, flipped everything to Tuesday and started again. Told Dawson tomorrow will be super easy for him…he was less than pleased.
Got everyone finished except Noah. He’s still doing his own thing. Thank the lord because I’m pretty sure I couldn’t help him with his Math. On the bright side he told me he’s learning about Sparta and Athens in Mr. Gunselman’s and he already knows some of it…asked him how? He replied Assassin’s Creed…apparently Adam’s letting him play it. I can’t even be mad, I’m calling it Quarentinion History and movin’ on…
Adam headed to the office to take care of a few things and on his way out I handed him a grocery list for IGA. I can’t get anything from Walmart and since he’s already going out…I totally while you’re up’d him. He got home about an hour and a half later and apparently he still couldn’t get some of the things on my list. I asked him what happened and he turned my saying around on me and said “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit!” Yep it was one of those days…
Kids got in the pool again today and Dawson can now swim from one end of the pool to the next. Big steps here. Noah was the first one out and fell asleep on me in the sun. Yep it was one of those days…

Kids all went inside and we weren’t ready to start dinner just yet so Adam and I got into the pool. It’s official it was my first time in this season. The sun was warm, we were listening to music, it was one of those days.
One of the best parts of Quarentine life is Adam is doing a lot of the cooking. I sat at the island and we talked while he made meatballs. I told Adam we should probably give the kids water for dinner since he couldn’t get any milk from the store. Adam confessed that we probably needed to give them milk because when he was seasoning the meatballs and he accidentally poured the chili flakes from the pour side instead of the shake side. While this is no big deal for most people in our family, for Owen this will not be good!! Adam looked at me and says don’t tell. If he doesn’t know maybe it won’t be a big deal. 1 min after prayer Owen is drinking from his milk glass…he looks at Adam and says that’s one spicy meatball!! ![]()

I had to look away I was laughing. Owen was a trooper though and finished it all, but not without a lot of dramatic signing, breathing through his mouth, panting, and a second glass of milk…it was just one of those days…
Adam set up a classroom zoom meeting for Owen and sat with him. When it was over he came downstairs and told me he could never be a 1st grade teacher. They’re Saints…
So currently I’m sitting outside as the sun is setting, with a blanket on my lap. It’s quiet except for the birds and an occasional moo from down the road. My only distraction has been the dog rubbing up against our cat…yes that cat. And then 5 minutes later chasing her into the garage…Yep it’s been one of those amazing days we call life. Full of frustrations, laughter, concern, peace, love, and calm. I wouldn’t have it any other way…

The kids are alright, Adam and I are alright, and the dog is still living his best life.
