April 12th, 2020 Day #30

Coronavirus Chronicles Day #30

Happy Easter Everyone!!

Woke up this morning to giggles in the kitchen as the kids had found their Easter baskets. Got a cup of coffee and started going for the day. Kids got dressed and we headed outside to find Easter Eggs before the rain.

Our Easter picture brought to you by a mom who didn’t care if the kids matched. Frankly, I was more surprised the kids took initiative and dressed themselves for Easter. Corbin came downstairs dressed for a country Easter (his words), monkey see monkey do and Dawson then ran upstairs, he came downstairs 3 min later in a 4T dress shirt I hadn’t pulled out of his closet yet…Owen and Noah came downstairs. Noah went for the preppy 12 year old and Owen decided to dress like a blueberry (his words)….

Gathered the kids for a picture. And then it felt like the horn had gone off for the hunger games. Told the kids the Easter bunny let us know there were 60 eggs out there so each kid could get 15. We could only find 56…I said the Easter bunny hid them too well. The Easter bunny said his helper should stop using the green eggs because they’re camouflage. Plus he’s getting older and shouldn’t be expected to remember where he put 60 eggs. The bunny’s helper said E bunny should look into some Ginkgo Biloba…. I’m sure Adam will find any lost eggs with the lawnmower….

Came inside and opened presents. I have to give a big shoutout to Just A Trace!! I gave her ages for the boys and she then gave me ideas for Easter presents on messenger. Once I decided what to get she wrapped them for us and had them ready to pick up. I so love this community!!

Got a second cup of coffee and settled into Easter mass on the couch. It was such a weird experience not being able to be there. I was thankful for Father Gary and all who helped with mass today but my heart aches that we cannot be there. I just have to remember that this too will pass. I had a thousand different thoughts during mass but one stuck with me even after it was done…Owen fidgets just as much on our couch as he does in the pew…

Adam said a leisurewear ninja went running past our front windows…we opened the door to Easter presents from Owen and Corbin’s godparents. Caught the leisurewear Ninja before she left and got to talk for a few minutes from a safe social distance.

So not only am I lucky enough to have my birthday on Easter this year, but I also share it with 2 of the boy’s friends. So we did a little drive by birthday hello for both boys. It was great to see their families even if it was from afar and share a laugh and a smile. Even got to wave and say hello to some friends that were doing the same thing. Loved that they turned their sign around and wished me a happy birthday too!! Stopped and said Happy Easter to some friends who where working outside. Then we parked in my parents driveway while they stayed on the porch to say Happy Easter. It wasn’t exactly how a typical Easter goes but we made the best of it.

Had a glass of wine while Adam and Noah made Easter dinner. Adam even baked his first cake to celebrate my birthday. If you look at the cake picture really close you might notice where little fingers found the icing…I really am a lucky girl! 😂🤣❤️

Finished the night playing bingo with the boys again.

Today was full of new traditions but the kids are alright, Adam and I are alright and the dog is living his best life!
