Coronavirus Chronicles Day #36
It’s Saturday!! I was so excited to sleep in! So why oh why did my internal clock wake me at 7:30?? All the kids weren’t even up yet!! I decided to not wake up Adam and got out of bed and grabbed some coffee. I sat in the living room reading and got to slowly wake up with the house. Not exactly what I wanted but I’ll take it.
Adam and I drove together to run a quick errand, while we were out we decided to stop at CVS because I was out of wine and he wanted some Heineken. Adam laughed at me as I put on my mask to run into the store. He said I looked like a goof. I stuck my tongue out at him but he didn’t see. I decided I didn’t need a cart because I only needed a few things. I headed straight to the wine aisle and started to decide what white wine I wanted as we shifted to warmer weather. Found a Sauvignon Blanc and a Prosecco I wanted. I realized that if I was there I might as well get 6 bottles and get the discount. So I loaded up my arms and went to stand in line while juggling my precious cargo. I found my yellow x and waited until it was my time to pay. Chatted with the lady at checkout and then headed out to the car. Opened my door to get in and Adam asked where the Heineken was…oops…um…yeah…I promised him I’d get some in my next Walmart order…
Spent most of the day outside playing with the kids new Easter games. Played quite a few rounds of Noah’s new bean bag game. Then Corbin and Noah played with the curve ball toss. Lots of bike riding, trampoline time and sunshine. By 4 o’clock the kids were toast and asked to go inside to relax. Adam said it was fine as long as they weren’t on the internet. No xbox, youtube, or Disney plus. They could watch tv or do something else. I went inside a little while later to find them playing the real monopoly. Everyone was set up and apparently Lambie and Snake were there to make sure no one cheated. Rarely if ever do they play a bored game just the 4 of them. It’s amazing what the kids will do when you reduce the options.

Today was Dawson’s dinner and it was a double smoked ham, corn on the cob and cinnamon apples. Dawson was so proud to present HIS dinner. He told everyone they could thank him for the wonderful meal. Everyone agreed it was 5 stars. It must have been the sun but the boys all had second helpings but Owen ate 2 helpings of ham, 2 corn on the cob and apples…pretty sure he has a hollow leg.

Cleaned up all the dishes and the boys and I sat down to play monopoly. I quickly realized that the game they had played earlier in the afternoon was not played by the rules. I asked Noah if he had referenced the rule book and his response was “there is a rule book?” We played for a little over an hour and all properties had been bought. We had to quit but I promised to play again with them on a rainy day until we have an official winner. What I learned is that my younger boys are starting to try to trash talk each other and they are absolutely terrible. When someone did something Owen didn’t like he would yell “you cheesy cheeks!!” Um what? Dawson, likes to yell gibberish as loud as he can. Corbin keeps pretty quiet but Noah has started to up his sighing game. At 12 he’s not a professional yet but he isn’t in the farm league anymore either.
The kids are still up and Adam is currently letting them watch the Ali/Fraser boxing match from 1975. They are in round 8…

No worries the kids are alright, Adam and I are alright, and the dog is living his best life.
