Coronavirus Chronicles Day #37
Sunday Funday! Woke up and I was shocked that it was 8:30. I only woke up because the dog was using his head as a battering ram against the door. The rest of the house was silent as everyone was still asleep but Corbin. Let the dog out and grabbed some coffee. Woke Adam up because today was Owen’s dinner and he wanted to make smoked pork butt. Before bed last night Adam had told me the pork butt had to be on the smoker by 8:30…it made it on the smoker around 9:30.
The boys slowly started coming downstairs and after awhile they let me know they were starving. Owen has been begging for Omelets but all the other kids groaned. I’ve never made them omelets before apparently the school omelets have made an impression. Noah likened them to chewing rubber…Corbin and Dawson agreed. After much convincing they agreed to let me make them some. Three of the kids were suspect, Owen was thrilled. 12 eggs, pico, ham and cheese later the kids were all in love.

Today I decided to do a 75 minute spinning class. I just needed some time to myself. I’m so glad I did, there is something about pushing yourself that just puts you in a relaxed mood the rest of the day.

At 2:30 the kids were short tempered and getting on each other’s nerves so I sent them upstairs for quiet time. Rules are you don’t have to sleep but I don’t want to hear you for at least an hour. 3 kids rested and relaxed, Corbin passed out and when I went up at 5 to check on him he was a sweaty mess and had no idea where he was. I carried him downstairs as he was completely out of it!!

Dinner was Owen’s choice and it was the smoked pork butt, homemade Mac and cheese, broccoli, and raw carrots. (Not cooked Mom because those are gross!) This meal planning has been genius. We’ve had 4 great meals and decided to do this again. So next week I’ll be sitting down to pick a menu with the boys again. Adam said this time he gets veto power. ![]()

Owen left the table saying he was so stuffed he didn’t think he could eat again.

Cleaned up the kitchen and the kids ran upstairs to get into pajamas. Came downstairs to watch America’s Funniest Home Videos and Owen sat down and asked what was for dessert. It had been a total of 18 minutes since he had last said he was stuffed. Adam had timed him. I said there was no way he was hungry and then all 4 boys chimed in that they were hungry and wanted dessert!! So I made them shakes out of frozen bananas, milk and Nutella. I have a feeling our grocery bills are going to get interesting when they are all teenagers!!
The kids are probably still hungry but are alright, Adam and I are alright, and the dog is living his best life.
