Coronavirus Chronicles Day #39
Today my alarm woke me up at 7:00 and Adam was already up in his office. Corbin heard it go off and came into the room to “check” on me, code for put his frozen toes on me. I got up and got coffee, I swear the dog poses when I walk by him in the morning! If he could wear a sign it would read belly rubs accepted here…I gave him the obligatory rub and headed to drink my coffee and read the news. By the time all chores were done, kids dressed, breakfasts eaten, it was 9 and time to start.

I really don’t have anything to complain about. We are in a groove for the most part and have come up with a process. As I shuffle between kids, the boys keep their books nearby and read while they wait for me to come back. It works a lot better then them yelling I’m done at me. Or my personally favorite from Owen “Mommymommom!” Which usually brought a bellow from upstairs that Dad’s trying to work/on a conference call/ etc..Today Corbin finished up first, then Owen and when I switched to Dawson’s last slide I saw one for a Mystery Guest…well that’s strange, they used to only do those on Fridays… YOU… HAVE… GOT… TO… BE… FREAKING… KIDDING… ME!!! Oh, I did it again! I did the wrong day of E-learning for Dawson!!
I did Thursday not Tuesday… I broke the news to him and he could tell I was upset. I felt terrible and I told him I was sorry. I asked if he wanted to try and get a little of today’s work done since it was quiet and only he and I. He looked at me and said it wasn’t my fault…he tried to convince me it was actually his fault. Bless him, he was so sweet. So for the next hour he and I were like a super hero learning duo and crushed today’s work. We only have some IXL work to finish for today. I whispered in his ear when we were done that all he’ll have Thursday is the Mystery Guest, he winked at me and gave me the thumbs up.
Everyone got lunch and it felt like a short order kitchen as we were slinging plates with leftovers… Noah had a pork taco, Corbin and Dawson had brats, Owen wanted the left over steak and Adam joked with him he’d have to eat it right off the T-bone. I turned around and when I turned back Owen had picked up this massive steak and was eating it. The other boys were in tears laughing, Owen was laughing, and Adam was laughing. I stared at Adam, he stared back, I stared again…he asked what? I told him Owen could choke…Adam cut up the steak.
After the kids were done and Adam went back upstairs I was just exhausted. I don’t know if it was a physical or mental thing but I could have curled up and gone to sleep! I sat and read for awhile and then decided it was probably more mental then physical and I needed to move. I got up and did a quick 30 min on demand spinning class and finished 10 minutes before the GenZ live ride. Noah got on and hammered out the 20 minute class while Corbin, Owen. Dawson and I screwed around having fun.

After we were done we went outside to relax. Quavo doesn’t respect personal boundaries as he laid across me.

Owen had a Zoom meeting with his class that I actually remembered! (I’m terrible at remembering them some days!) We had dinner and Adam decided to mow part of the lawn.
Pretty mellow day to be honest, the kids are alright, Adam and I are alright, and the dog is living his best life.
