April 23, 2020 Day #41

Coronavirus Chronicles Day #41

It rained all day today and it set the tone for the day. I woke up at 2 this morning from a bad dream and I couldn’t shake it. I didn’t end up going back to sleep until 4. Then struggled to wake up, the room was dark and the house was quiet. Finally got up at 8:40 and got coffee.

Started E-learning at 9:30. Dawson only had a few things to finish up thanks to my Tuesday mistake. Everyone else got going and got finished. The kids are doing fine in their classes but I can tell they are missing their classmates. Yesterday Corbin’s class had a memory video of all their pictures from October. After the video was done Corbin burst into tears. It caught me off guard. I think we get so busy trying to get everything done we forget how crazy all of this is for our kids. I just held him, I’ve done that a lot with the boys lately. I wish I could have told him everything will be normal next year.

Had a Walmart pick up order at noon. As I waited for them to drop off my order I watched how busy they were in the pick up area. Multiple people were delivering orders in the rain. I watched them pull the heavy carts through big puddles in their rain boots. I found myself praying for each person as they walked by. I am so grateful for what they are doing for so many of us. The young man who brought my order was kind and in good spirits. I thanked him, I wanted to say more.

Got home and got everything put away. The kids were working their way through a few Marvel movies and I did some laundry. I sat for awhile looking up plants to add to the landscaping I started in the fall.

Adam finished up work at 5. As he walked down the stairs I asked him how the commute was. He said it was hazardous. He was probably referring to the stack of AR books the kids keep putting on the steps.

Decided tonight was pizza and a movie. Adam picked the 1987 classic Willow. I know I saw this movie as a kid, I had totally forgotten it. After watching it again I’m not surprised I didn’t remember it.

We are now watching the NFL draft, a bit different than in years past. The boys are currently tackling each other and Adam is complimenting them when they wrap up. I just told them to knock it off because we are NOT going to the ER right now!

It was a quiet day for us but the kids are alright, Adam and I are alright and the dog is living his best life.
