Coronavirus Chronicles Day #8
Alarm went off at 7:30, I couldn’t move my legs!!! Oh no I must have done something to them yesterday!! Nope, nothing is wrong with them, just a 100 pound dog asleep on me! Not sure how he got in our room and snuck in the bed but he did and I never noticed. Got up and did a 60 min ride at 8 am. Finished the ride, cleaned up and got a well deserved cup of coffee! It truly is the nectar of the gods!!
With 6 people in the house groceries are going fast so, I had an online Walmart pick up scheduled at 2. Got a message this morning that I had a bunch of weird substitutions and some unavailable items. I had flour on my order and it was substituted with Almond Flour. That’s fine I will still use Almond flour but I really needed All Purpose Flour. Decided that I would hit Holiday Foods and see if they had the cancelled items and Adam really wanted a pork butt to smoke since we are at home all day. Checked with my parents to see if they needed any items from the store and they needed celery, onions and constant comment tea. Since I wasn’t getting all purpose flour from Walmart and pancakes are a fan favorite at our house I need to get that as well. I did find flour but I could only purchase one 5 pound package I know that seems like a lot but that wasn’t going to be enough at my house with 4 boys. Swung past IGA and found celery, for anyone wondering their produce is fully stocked and looks great!! Found celery but no more flour. Off to Grounded I went in the hunt for flour. Found whole wheat flour and grabbed it. As I always say to my boys you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit. Headed to Walmart for my pickup. Got there a little early and decided to try running in to see if they maybe had substitutions for the items cancelled. Lo and behold I found flour!!! They had 1 10 pound bag of all purpose flour. So today will forever be known as the day I bought 20 pounds of flour. No worries my friends, with my boys I’ll be buying more in 2 weeks.
To all the people I saw while I was out I was so happy to see you all! Your smiling faces brightened up my day! Also, thank you for all the kind words about the Chronicles. It was so nice to hear it gives you a chuckle. To those I saw from afar and flashed the peace sign too. It warmed my heart to see you and at the same time I felt like I was in the Walmart hunger games. I kept thinking to myself as I flashed the peace sign at Walmart “May the odds EVER be in your favor!” Left the store got my pick up order and headed home.
Kid’s spent a lot of time outside. Owen got another bloody nose!!! I suggested he might want to take a break from the trampoline he suggested it probably wouldn’t happen again. Yeah right…looked out the window and caught the kids playing in rain water, then I heard the hose turn on…to my neighbors who HAD to have heard me scream at my boys to turn off the water and quit spraying each other in 40 degree weather. I am sorry, I know my screech had to have carried at least a 1/2 mile.
Boys practiced Fortnite dances. Noah was told by Adam he couldn’t purchase an emote unless he could do the dance. Noah got his emote but Dawson declared Noah is a terrible dancer…
Adam made chili! Thank you!!
Decided to play a new games the kids got at Christmas. All my teacher friends should be happy they had to do math to play DOS. Then played a couple of rounds of Jurassic Uno. Lots of fun and laughter, got the games at Christmas but took until we had a Pandemic to play.
In summary the kids are alright, Adam and I are alright and the dog is still living his best life.
